o celebration in Singapore is complete without a jar of pineapple tarts, a typically multicultural combination of European style pastry, pineapple and local spicees, believed to have been first created by the Peranakans of Katong. This marmalade was inspired by these bite-sized explosions of flavour which are devoured by all at Hari Raya, Chinese New Year and Deepavali alike.
